The Calvinist Cadet Corps is a non-denominational youth ministry organization that provides churches with ministry programs that will enable them to effectively share Christ’s love with boys in their church and community. You can see a map of the Southern California region with local clubs highlighted. At present, the council is made of up fourteen active clubs, with remaining clubs on hiatus or inactive. Clubs in the Southern California region are organized as the Southern California Council. This council provides mutual aid to individual clubs and supports larger-scale events such as pinewood derby races or camping trips. Each club has its own page on this website with additional information on the club, meeting times, locations and activities. Feel free to check it out! Our council was organized in 1956. History of our Southern California Council
2025-2026 Cadet Year - Council met three times (August, November and February; the Executive Board met in April 2026). Each full council meeting consisted of counselor training (workshops) and a business meeting. The council welcomed back New Life PCA (La Mesa) to the active rolls of our council. In September 2025, the council hosted an overnight adventure on the USS Midway Museum located in San Diego. See the write-up here: Midway 2025. Two hundred and fifty Cadets, counselors and (grand)dads joined in the fun. In December 2025, the council hosted its Fifty-fourth annual Field Day at Valley Christian High School in Cerritos. Attending Field Day was 180 boys from eleven clubs. Additionally, 80 counselors attended and supported twenty-one events. First URC of Chino won the Field Day trophy with a points-per-boy count of 17.2. See the write-up here: Field Day 2025. In March 2026, the council held the annual Pinewood Derby race hosted this year by First CRC of Artesia.
2024-2025 Cadet Year - Council met four times (August, November, February and April). Each meeting consists of counselor training (workshops) and a business meeting. In December 2024, the council hosted its Fifty-third annual Field Day at Calvin Christian High School in Escondido. One hundred and eighty-five Cadets from eleven clubs attended. Additionally there were eighty-six counselors present. First URC of Chino won the Field Day trophy with a points-per-boy count of 12.8. In March 2026, the council held the annual Pinewood Derby race hosted this year by Crosspoint Church in Chino. Golden Bear council (California North Central Valley) hosted the 2025 West Coast Camporee at Lake Alpine, CA in mid-July. Information on the camporee is here: West Coast Camporee 2025.
