Archery/Gun Invitational

The 2012 Archery/Gun Invitational was hosted by Escondido URC on 3 November 2012.  The event was held on the grounds of Calvin Christian High School (located just east of the church).  A few pictures show that it was a beautiful day and about 65 Cadets had a great time learning how to safety compete with a compound bow and pellet rifle.

Thanks to Rob Balt and the counselors from Club 1536 (Escondido URC) for all their hard work and preparation.  Thanks also to Gary Conrad and the counselors from Club 1531 (Crosspoint), and Reuben Settergren and the counselors from Club 1561 (New Life PCA) for loaning us the equipment and to Jim Grasmeyer for transporting all of it down to Calvin Christian High.

Registration began at 8:30 am, and all who attend will be required to turn in a signed waiver to take part in the competitions.  Each cadet was assigned a number (similar to Field Day) so that they will not be required to carry their waiver with them.  Please join us for this fun competition, it will help in your Field Day skills!

See the 30 August 2012 minutes for discussions about the invitational.

The attached NASP order form is to be used by not-for-profit organizations to order archery equipment at a discount.  You may download the form, fill it out, and send it to George Bell (our council quartermaster).  To see the board’s discussion about the Invitational, review the minutes on the council page.
